LITEC started working in the entertainment sector as a professional lighting equipment supplier. In the mid-90's it began
manufacturing aluminium structures. This business very quickly revealed itself to be a successful choice for LITEC, which
soon became market leader in the truss and trussing accessories sector. In 1999 LITEC was acquired by the Vitec Group PLC
and became part of Manfrotto, one of the worlds' largest lighting stands and supports manufacturer.

LITEC today is one of the most important manufacturers of rigging aluminium structures in the world. Thanks to its
R&D department it is a very dynamic company, with strong focus on new product design and development. Libera is an
example of this. It is a new concept in the use of trusses with a system built from flat components. LITEC has also
developed a strong partnership with the Columbus McKinnon Group for the distribution of lifting mechanisms.

LITEC belongs to an international company, The Vitec Group PLC, which works in the professional entertainment,
video-photographic and broadcasting sector. In this way it combines the force and organization of a large company with
flexibility and speed, to the benefit of its customers.

| The three main elements which characterize the "LITEC culture" |
 |
Cast aluminium: from bushes to plates
The aluminium plate for the Standard and Heavy Duty lines was the first revolution LITEC brought about in the field of
aluminium structures. LITEC introduced this concept back in 1995 and perfected it over time, increasing its performance,
quality and safety levels.
|
 |
This type of plate has many benefits for the user: two alternative connection systems, greater twist resistance, minimal
eccentricity, absolute compatibility between trusses and no risk of deformation at the ends. Through this plate LITEC
introduced its' philosophy, which it has developed over the years: innovation beyond the conventional by offering new
products which are never copies of anything that already exists.
|
 |
Practical design: from welding to assembly
LITEC has introduced practical design into the world of aluminium structures. It uses over one hundred hot-pressed parts
and extruded sections, all tailor made. This means that products can be built with several mechanically assembled
components and less welds. This concept, perhaps not so immediately evident, has in reality revolutionized the look and
increased the safety of a large number of products. Almost all LITEC products, apart from trusses, are made of assembled
parts. It is enough to look at the products of other companies within the sector to see how LITEC's design and solutions
stand out, becoming benchmarks in its market.
|
 |
Libera: liberty to create
The introduction of the Libera system in 2002 led to a new way of understanding and using aluminium structures. Many world
professionals use only Libera for their constructions. The development of Libera sums up LITEC's entire know-how: attention
to market needs, technical skills, new materials, innovative design, high safety standards, quality and production
capability.
Libera is not a single truss, but a whole system. Libera is a simple concept based on extremely high technical standards.
