| The Heineken Jammin' Festival 2010 |
 |
The Heineken Jammin' Festival, the most popular summer live rock event in Italy, was back at the beginning of July in the San Giuliano park. It was a four-day marathon of live music, which featured many international rock stars like Aerosmith, Greenday, Black Eyed Peas, and Pearl Jam.
The main stage had extraordinary dimensions: 60m in length, 18m in depth and 19m in height. Several types of LITEC trusses were assembled for its construction: MyT, Libera FL105 and QD40S. The whole staging structure carried about 37 tons of audio, video and lighting fixtures. |

| Muse The Resistance Stadium Tour |
 |
Brilliant Stages created a completely new stage set for the stadium venues, based on the design concepts of Oli Metcalfe and Es Devin, with technical realization by Malcolm Birkett, and produced by Chris Vaughan of The Production Office.
The stadium set consists of a 62m long video header, a suspended ceiling grid, a diamond shaped stage flanked by projection screens, drum riser fascias and on- and off-stage rear fascias, a tracking B stage with inset revolving scissor lift and tech bunkers and screamers.
The ceiling grid beneath the video header was constructed by LITEC. This consists of 64 ladder truss cells manufactured using LITEC’s custom LIBERA FL52 System. The cells are clad with stretch vinyl and each cell houses a MAC301 Wash moving head within the recess. All lighting for the tour was supplied and co-ordinated by Dave Ridgeway of Neg Earth. |

| "Milan Loves Fashion" |
 |
Fashion for all people. Fashion as an expression of creativity. Fashion as entertainment. The event has been an opportunity to let the Milanese take part in this fascinating and not ephemeral world. The programme combined moments of fashion with music, dance and visual art and ended with an extraordinary grand finale with fireworks.
The main double-pitch structure used for all the performances of the event was made in LITEC Libera FL76 on Maxitower 76.
The 7,500kg load was applied only to half the structure which was taken up with a catwalk, because the second half held a stand of seats for the most important guests. The eight 12-metre towers were made in QL52A and served as audio supports as well. Every system weighed about 800 kg and hanged onto a 2-metre RL76 truss. |

| 100 Flyintowers X30/D30 Supplied to the International Meeting of Jeovah's Witnesses |
 |
On 6-9th August 2009 the International Meeting of Jeovah’s Witnesses took place at the Olympic Stadium in Rome with the participation of about 70,000 people coming from all over the world. The stadiums of Bari, Bologna and Genoa linked up with Rome by satellite and followed the live religious event as well.
For this event LITEC supplied 100 Flyintowers X30 and D30, support towers for audio systems consisting of QX30S structures, suitable for lifting loads of up to 600 kg to a height of 9.5 metres. To lift the loads, anchoring is provided for an electric chain hoist; alternatively they may be lifted manually by adding a cable winch device, like in this case.
All LITEC’s lifters stand out for their linear forms and modular systems. They are the result of years of experience in design and technology. |

| Litec at the 1st May Concert in Rome |
 |
The concert of May the 1st is in Rome a tradition of good music and relax. Every year on that date a free concert is offered in the square of San Giovanni in Laterano (Saint John Lateran).
This year more than 800,000 people have taken part in this event, which was dedicated to the Abruzzo population that had been heavily struck by the earthquake and raised funds to award scholarship to the orphans of the working dead. Many Italian singers performed on that stage, in particular Vasco Rossi, one of the most popular and best-known Italian artists.
To set up the huge stage Litec structures were used: the enormous arched roof was made in Libera FL76, while other bended and linear elements were constructed with QX30S and QD30S series. Limelite designed and made the event, and Madema Allestimenti supplied the structures. |

| The Perfect Solution In a Crisis |
 |
A.C. Rigging, a division of A.C. Entertainment Technologies Ltd., has supplied a Litec Maxitower 40 ground support truss system to leading film and TV lighting hire company Panalux for the filming of ‘Crisis Control’, a major new BBC Children’s TV series. ‘Crisis Control’ is a high-tech role-play show where two teams of children use their judgement and initiative to regain control in the midst of a variety of natural & man-made emergency situations.
The show’s production team needed a futuristic, industrial feel to the set design. After researching various locations, they chose the unusual aesthetics of a former Ministry of Defence vehicle climatic test chamber, located on the site of the QinetiQ film and TV studio in Chertsey. When it came to installing a temporary lighting grid in this unique space, the location presented a challenge for the Broadcasting & Events division of Panalux.
A site survey revealed that the chamber walls were covered with 2ft of insulation foam, and the ceiling of the chamber housed a huge panning and rotating 10t crane assembly, that had been immobilised. This meant that the typical method of flying the lighting grid from the venue’s structure was not possible, and the crane offered no viable solution, so the only option would be a ground support system.
Panalux were quick to realise that the Litec Libera truss system would be an ideal solution to create a lighting grid for this project. They had been considering investing in Litec Maxitower 40 truss towers for some time - a ground support system ideally suited to the Litec Libera FL52 truss, thus making their existing stock even more versatile. This was the ideal project to allow them to make that investment.
Panalux Project Manager, Adam Howard, commented: "Quite often we go into venues and the lighting grid flying points don’t line up with the venue rigging points, which can cause a few issues. By investing in the towers, we now have a highly flexible, modular grid system that we can configure to suit whatever venue we supply. The beauty of the Litec Libera grid system is that it gives the production much more choice over lighting positions to suit the set. Its flat design makes valuable storage and shipping space minimal compared to generic truss."
As with their existing Litec inventory, the Maxitower 40 truss towers were purchased from A.C. Rigging, the exclusive UK distributor for Litec. The towers were delivered in just over a week to meet tight deadlines and installed along with the Libera grid, lighting and control fixtures by Panalux.
The actual installation consists of a 14m by 14m ground supported Libera FL52 grid, rising 7m high and with the use of cantilever sections, designed to comfortably fit the venue. The truss towers were dressed and lit to become an integral part of the show’s futuristic set design.
Panalux Managing Director, Ed Pagett, commented: "We use Litec products because of the support we receive from A.C. Rigging and because it’s a well engineered, well thought out product. The Maxitower 40 truss system can support very heavy loads and it is compatible with the large amount of Litec QX30S truss we stock. Inevitably, this will help us to make an even greater return on our investment." |

| The success of H20 |
 |
The H20 Day/Night parties at the Wild Waters complex, east of Johannesburg, have always been a highlight for partygoers for a number of years. Held at a water park the party only happens about 3 times a year and people come from all over to have a day of good music, fun and sun.
During the latest H20 Africa was no different and about 15000 people including notorious local acts descended on the wave pool to witness a staging spectacular put on by CES Media. It took 4 days to set-up with many challenges including building the main stage in the wave pool.
CES’s Martin De Bruyn and Dylan Bridle along with their merry crew devised a clever way using their Litec Truss System bought recently. The main stage had the huge Libera ground support built on decking in the pool with a fashion show ramp extending out towards the "shore". They also used the Litec Alusfera Dome structure to create a three legged arch, in which they hung a huge amount of lighting.
With the party starting at midday and going on until late that night it was truly an H20 to remember and quite probably the biggest certainly from a staging perspective. As the sun set and the lights came on, with jet planes about to land just meters ahead – the venue is close to the Johannesburg International Airport - it was truly an "African" experience.

| LIBERA FL76 in the cloister of San Giovanni in Monte |
 |
Recently Studio Due Group srl and Ponteggi Gabbi srl have set up a very beautiful LITEC structure in a marvellous setting: the cloister in San Giovanni in Monte, a monumental complex located in the historical centre of Bologna, Italy. An ex-cloister and an ex-prison, it is presently the seat of the Department of History of the oldest University in Europe.
On the occasion of the CERSAIE Trade Show in Bologna, Ceramiche Caesar organized the event "FUTURE IS NOW" to celebrate its 20th Anniversary and enhance Made in Italy Business. there were invited more than 600 guests, among which operators of the sector, journalists, architects and designers coming from 38 different countries in the world.
For this show a LITEC roof system in Libera FL76 with 20x20m dimensions was installed. It was lifted up to 16m from the ground, over the roofs of the buidings all around, and enlarged by 2m on all 4 corners above the perimeter of the main cloister.
The evening closed with an elegant concert of the well-known Italian singer Mario Biondi, who conquered with his magic voice the public, who danced under the LITEC structure until late at night.
The structure was covered with transparent PVC. |
